Jacob Buchner Jacob was born and raised in the Noord-Holland, The Netherlands, and currently resides in Saitama, Japan together with his wife. After giving up life in the Netherlands and getting married to his Japanese wife he decided to move to Japan to continue his life there. Besides his full-time job as an English teacher at several elementary schools he also invests time in Dutchpod101.com. With a native Dutch tongue, a fluency in English and knowledge of the Japanese, French and German language, he is willing to pass on the Dutch language to those who are interested in the Netherlands and its Dutch language. | |
Mies Heerma Mies was born in Noord-Holland, The Netherlands, and currently resides in Tokyo. In 1999 she moved to Japan to teach Dutch flower arranging, since 2001 Mies has been teaching English to students aged 3~83 years old. She loves traveling, traveled around the world from June 2010 till June 2011. With a native Dutch tongue, a fluency in English and knowledge of the Japanese, and German language, she is willing to pass on the Dutch language to those who are interested in the Netherlands and its Dutch language. |

Mirthe Kamp was born and raised in the Netherlands and she currently resides in Tokyo. She is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic knowledge of German, French, and Japanese. Mirthe holds a Master’s degree in both criminal and civil law. Mirthe likes to travel and learn about cultural differences, and enjoys sharing her passion for languages with language learners from all over the world. | |
Gabriella White Gabriella is a linguist and multilingual broadcaster from the UK. Born to English-Dutch parents, Gabriella has a BA (Honors) degree in Linguistics, French, German and History of Art from the University of Durham. An accredited international journalist, Gabriella has worked with the BBC and is published in international newspapers and magazines including the Tokyo Daily. Gabriella is now learning her fifth language, Japanese, in Tokyo. | |
Frits Kieft Frits is Dutch but was born in Turkey and then grew up in many different countries in Africa and Polynesia, where he went to French schools and spoke Dutch at home. Later on he attended high school and university in Holland, majoring in English. Ever since, Frits has worked in language-related jobs, such as teaching, translating, founding and running a translation agency and writing teaching material. His hobbies are photography, hiking and reading. | |
Stella Stella was born in Amsterdam and has lived in the Netherlands all her life, where she learned to understand and speak English from a young age. She studied Swedish at the University of Amsterdam and wrote her Master’s thesis on audiovisual translation, after which she got accepted to the Rotterdam Conservatory for classical singing. She listens to a lot of audiobooks, cares for a rainbow lorikeet and loves swimming. | |
Maite Maite was born and raised in Breda, located in the southern part of the Netherlands. She currently resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she moved to learn Spanish, discover the culture, and work on women’s rights. She has studied international relations at the University of Amsterdam and has always been fascinated by other countries and cultures. As a Dutch native with a fluency in English and Spanish, and a knowledge of German, French, and Portuguese, Maite loves to share her passion for languages with other people all around the world. She also enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and yoga. |
