Hi everyone! I’m Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to use when talking with friends. After watching this video, you’ll be able to have a casual conversation with a friend, and to say something is “super.”
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Hé, kijk eens naar die auto!
Wow, die is super cool!
Once more with the English translation.
Hé, kijk eens naar die auto!
“Hey, look at that car!”
Wow, die is super cool!
“Wow, that's super cool!”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “Hey, look at that car!”
That's: Hé, kijk eens naar die auto!
Listen to it again: Hé, kijk eens naar die auto!, Hé, kijk eens naar die auto!
This Dutch sentence literally translates as "Hey, look for a moment to that car!” But it means “Hey, look at that car!”
Now, how do you respond to this?
First of all, you’ll need to learn how to say “wow” . That’s
wow, wow
Then, you’ll need to learn how to say “That’s super [adjective].”
The pattern is:
Die is super [adjective].
For example:
“Wow, that's super cool!”
Wow, die is super cool!, Wow, die is super cool!
