Jessi: Top 25 Dutch Questions You Need to Know - Lesson 21: Are you hungry? in Dutch (In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Dutch learners and then how to answer it like a native you'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then the repetition and new vocabulary will expand your understanding of the question its answers any variations. You also improve pronunciation and fluency by repeating the words and phrases out loud after hearing them.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question Are you hungry? In Dutch this is

The first word in the question Are you hungry? is

Jessi: the First part stays the same. Simply replace the word for unbelievably. Say Yes, I'm terribly hungry.

Jessi: To epand on the pattern, replace terribly with not really.

Jessi: Listen to the phrase again, this time with not really

Jessi: Change Yes to No and then replace the word for terribly. Say No, I'm not really hungry.

Now it's time for a quiz. Imagine you are visiting the Netherlands and a Friend asks you if you're hungry. You want to answer Yes, I'm a little hungry.. Respond to the question.
Jacob: Heeft u honger? (five seconds) Ja, ik ben een beetje hongerig.
Jessi: Now you want to say Yes, I'm unbelievably hungry. Respond to the question.
Jacob: Heeft u honger? (five seconds) Ja, ik ben ongelofelijk hongerig.
Jessi: You want to say Yes, I'm terribly hungry.. . Answer the speaker's question.
Jacob: Heeft u honger? (five seconds) Ja, ik ben ontzettend hongerig.
Jessi: You want to say No, I'm not really hungry.. Respond to the question.
Jacob: Heeft u honger? (five seconds) Nee, ik ben niet echt hongerig.
Jessi: You want to ask someone your friend if they are hungry. Ask the question
